The festival first ran in 2007 and takes place annually on the third weekend in May, from Friday to Sunday. Sessions are spread across venues in the village and cover topical debates as well as lighter and inspirational talks.
The festival also runs an outreach programme that supports local school libraries. Its site lists a save the date notice for 14 to 16 May 2027, with the programme still to come.
